Fires by day.
Websites by night.

I'm Tanner: a working Maui firefighter, seven years on the job. Between shifts I build websites for small businesses. No templates, no page builders, no agency runaround. You talk to the person who builds it.

What a rebuild actually looks like

Molokai Vacation Properties came to me with a site their customers gave up on. Here is the inspection, and what shipped instead.

The old site

The old Molokai Vacation Properties website: an off-the-shelf real-estate listings template with broken gradient framing around every listing photo
Their actual old home page, an off-the-shelf real-estate template.
  • Finding 1Off-the-shelf IDX template. Indistinguishable from a thousand mainland agent sites.
  • Finding 2Broken image framing, with dead gradient blocks bleeding around every listing photo.
  • Finding 3Cramped cards and tiny text. A dated look, years behind the island it sells.
  • Finding 4A bare MLS grid. No island story, no reason to call instead of clicking Zillow.

The rebuild

The rebuilt Molokai Vacation Properties website, listings page with MLS search
The rebuild: listings and MLS search, front and center.
  • ShippedLeads with the island. Photography of Molokaʻi, not stock.
  • ShippedListings and MLS search on page one.
  • ShippedWorks on a phone. Most of their visitors are on one.
  • ShippedLoads in 0.7 seconds, with zero layout shift. Measured, not claimed.

I don't patch templates. I tear down what's broken and rebuild it from the ground up.

When the website stops matching the business

Foothills Kitchen & Bath is a family owned remodeling showroom. Their site was still selling a product line they had dropped. Here is the inspection, and what shipped instead.

The old site

The old Foothills Kitchen and Bath home page, whose opening headline apologizes for the site not being finished
Their actual old home page. That headline is the real one.
  • Finding 1The home page opened by apologizing for itself: “We apologize....our site is not fully built out yet.”
  • Finding 2A 13-page product section for a brand they had stopped carrying, with explainer copy still citing 2021.
  • Finding 3The same three paragraphs ran twice, once under “Our vision” and again under “Why choose us?”
  • Finding 4The footer email link was empty. Nothing to click, no address behind it.
02

The rebuild

The rebuilt Foothills site showing real customer kitchen remodels photographed before and after
The rebuild: their own customers' kitchens, before and after.
  • Shipped66 pages, built around what they actually sell today.
  • ShippedTheir own customers' before and afters, shot in the same room each time. No catalog photos.
  • ShippedAn interactive door style browser, so shoppers compare doors here instead of leaving for the manufacturer.
  • ShippedCity pages and a service area map across the southwest Denver metro.

Their old site apologized for itself. The new one sells what they actually carry.

Straight work, straight prices

Every price below is real and on the pricing page. You'll never hear "it depends" twice in one call.

Three industries, three different sites

Concept builds, each designed from scratch. If two of my sites ever look like siblings, I rebuild one.

These three are fictional concept businesses, shown as design work, not client claims. Real client sites live on the Real Clients page.

The ones that aren't concepts

Why "Frontline"

Firehouse values, applied to the web

Fires, floods, ocean rescues. That's the day job. The instinct is the same in both: see the problem, show up, fix it, don't leave until it works.

  • Show up. You get my cell, not a ticket queue.
  • No surprises. Flat quotes before work starts. The price on the site is the price.
  • Built right. Accessible to WCAG AA, fast on island connections, tested on real phones.

That day job is also who I build for off island. I make websites for volunteer and career fire departments across the mainland at madeyouawebsite.com.

The Full Story

What you're actually paying for

Speed you can feel

No bloated builders. A lean page loads in under a second, and Google notices too.

Accessibility, always

WCAG AA contrast, keyboard navigation, screen-reader structure. Every visitor can use your site. It's the law in more places every year, and it's the right way to build.

Found on Google

Real on-page SEO in every build: proper structure, meta tags, and fast load times from day one.
